NVIDIA Installer2 폴더 함부로 삭제하지말자

블러그나 인터넷에 보면 용량없다고 저 폴더를 막 삭제해도 된다는 식으로 올라와 있는 글들이 꽤 있다.

그래서 나도 동조하여 2GB 아끼자고 삭제해버렸다.

그후 그닥 뭐 이상한 점이 없었으니 컴터 잘 쓰고있었다.

그러다가 어제 VGA카드를 구매하여 오늘 교체하고 거기에맞는 새로운 VGA드라이버를 받아설치하려는데

이건 뭐야 오류가 나고 설치가 안된다.... 몇번을 해도 안된다.

그래서 이전 NVIDIA 드라이브를 삭제하려고 하니 이건 뭥미... 삭제도 안된다....

자꾸 Installer2폴더의 무슨 파일이 없다면서 모든 NVIDIA 관련된 것들이 삭제도 안된다.

재부팅해도 소용없고 도무지 몇번을 해봐도 답이 안나온다.

이런제길... 윈도를 정말 귀찮은데 새로 깔아야되나..... 속으론 저 폴더를 지운게 후회가 된다.

이것때문에 2시간을 까먹으며 인터넷에 알아봐도 무슨 뾰족한 답이 없다.

그러다가 NVIDIA 홈페이지에서 설치오류관련 영문글이 있어 대충 해석해서

그대로 하니 다행히 드라이브가 설치가 된다!

아래가 원문이다.

The installer package of the NVIDIA GeForce Experience application or the NVIDIA Graphics Driver can sometimes hit generic failures which do not pinpoint an exact error condition. These errors can be caused by an incorrect system state. 

If the software installation fails, the best first step is to reboot and try the installation again. 

If that doesn't help, try explicitly uninstalling the previous version (if any), rebooting, and then reinstalling.

If it continues to fail, try performing the following steps to reset the system state:

1. Make sure that NVIDIA Windows services are not running.

   To stop the NVIDIA Windows services, run "services.msc" from the Run window, then find and stop all services where the service name starts with NVIDIA.

2. After all services are stopped, make sure that no instance of any NVIDIA application is running.

   To look for instances of NVIDIA applications, open the Task Manager and look for processes starting with nv or NVIDIA.  Kill those processes, if any.

3. Make sure to remove the following registry keys if they exist. 

   Run Regedit and search for each key, then delete if found.

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Logging

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Logging

4. Now try to install again.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, uninstall all NVIDIA programs using the Windows Control Panel, reboot, and then try steps 1 to 4 again.

대충보면 소프트웨어 설치가 실패하면 첫번째로 재부팅해서 다시 설치하라는 내용이고

그것도 해결이 안되면 4단계의 방법을 따라하라고 나온다.

1. NVIDIA 윈도우 서비스가 실행중이지 말아야한다.

   정지시키려면 실행에서 services를 입력해 윈도우 서비스 창을 띄운다. (윈도우 10인경우는 시작버튼옆에 Windows 검색에서 한글로 서비스만 쳐도 나옴)

2. 거기서 NVIDIA를 찾아서 모두 다 중지시켜준다.(마우스 우클릭해서 중지) NVIDIA의 어떤것도 실행상태이면 안된다.

3. 레지스트리로 가서(실행창에서 regedit) 위와같은 경로의 logging을 삭제해준다. (근데 난 없어서 패스)

4. 인스톨을 다시 해본다.

저는 서비스에서 NVIDIA 관련 4개만 모두 중지시키고 인스톨하니 설치가 잘 되더군요.

혹여나 저와같은 문제로 골머리 썪는 분이 계시다면 위와같은 방법으로 해결하시길 바랍니다.

결론은 있는거 함부로 지우지마세요 저처럼 나중에 생쇼하게 됩니다...
